Information Crush: Amy's Show List

A great way to start the weekend is by heading over to Toad on Thursday for the free early set by Electrolux and if you're having fun, you can stay and check out the residency set by One Happy Island. On Friday, I'll be getting my inner geek on and heading off to see the new Star Trek movie and I am very excited! If I weren't, I'd be going to Fan Pier to see Buffalo Tom and the Great Bandini. I hear festivities start at 7p and expect Buffalo Tom to perform at 9p. Did I mention that it's free? Let me say that again, it's free. So cool... Another great show on Friday is The Damned and the Bellrays at the Paradise. You know these guys are gonna smash it up. On Saturday the show at Ralph's looks awesome, except that it's in Worcester. Maybe something a little closer to home would be better. Maybe the Plough or the Hi N Dry would be good destinations. On Wednesday, I am very tempted by the show at TTs with Thao and the Get Down Stay Down, they do a fun cover of "Did You Ever Had to Make Up Your Mind" by the Lovin' Spoonful: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TC5DQGGUkKU. Also on Wednesday, Justin Townes Earle looks intriguing at Johnny D's for a good dose of Americana.

I'm going to do a special shout out to a band playing on 5/18. The Swedish band, Suburban Kids With Biblical Names is playing at the Middlesex Lounge. If you enjoy good pop music like the Acid House Kings and Pelle Carlberg, definitely put this on your calendar.
