Information Crush: Amy's Show List

On Thursday, Au Revoir Simone is at TTs and they're great. I've seen them a couple of times and put on a good show. Or you can get your uke on by heading over to Toad for Melvern Taylor's early set. On Friday, there are a many many cool shows to check out. The Norweigian band I Was King looks tempting, as do the Figgs at the Midway but knowing me, I'll probably end up at Precinct for Muck & the Mires and Andrea Gillis. The incomparable Leonard Cohen is playing 2 nights, Friday and Saturday at the Citi Center for the Performing Arts if you're lucky enough to have one of these hot tickets. On Saturday, Radio 92.9 is allowing you you to channel your early 1990's version of you by presenting Soul Asylum and the Lemonheads at the Hatchshell for their annual Earthfest (hope for nice weather!). On Saturday night, I'm leaning toward the Figgs at the Midway but the soul show at TTs looks like fun so I could be persuaded. On Sunday, there's a garage band, The Black Hollies at O'Brien's, which my sources say are cool or the burlelesque show at Church with music by Electrolux could be entertaining. If you were planning on seeing the Scottish band the 1990's on Monday at Great Scotts, unfortunately they've cancelled their tour, I don't have any other details. Gomez on Tuesday at the House of Blues would be a good catch if you haven't used up your weekly rock allowance.

And don't forget, on every Friday starting at 9a, you can go to www.realchocolate.com and download a coupon for free chocolate be one of the first 250,000 people to get your sweets. If you don't get one on this week, don't worry, this promotion is running every Friday thru September.
