On Thursday I'm planning on being at TTs for the Detroit Cobras and Dexter Romweber Duo show. This looks like a great show so I really hope that there are tickets available at the door. If it's soldout, maybe I'll end up at the Plough for the Andrea Gillis Variety Show(could be cool). Friday has a couple of shows that look good. Fiery Furnaces with Hallelujah the Hills and the Bodega Girls at the Middle East are definitely worth a look if you've never seen them before. And if you like Queen, the Lizard is where you want to be, cause local luminaries will be performing Queen hits(and maybe some obscure ones as well). On Saturday, go all golden oldie at the Hatch Shell with Three Dog Night(do you think they'll play Shambala?). Sunday night has too many choices(on a Sunday night, really?). There's Cowboy Mouth at the Paradise and they're always a good time or John Vanderslice at the Middle East or uke master Melvern Taylor at the Plough or even Irishman Luka Bloom at Showcase Live. Definitely too many choices for a Sunday. On Tuesday, I really like Phoenix. I saw them last time they came thru town and they put on a great show. On Wednesday you have the chance to wang chung at night and have fun that night and also see the look of love at the House of Blues with ABC and Wang Chung. Here's my public service announcement: If you are planning on seeing the Yo La Tengo (sort of anyway) and the Bevis at TTs on 6/21, I say act fast. Tickets are no longer available online so head over to the box office at TTs and get yourself a ticket. So very cool!
And here's another freebie, Burts Bees is giving away free lip balm everyday between now and June 30. Just log onto http://www.burtsbees.com/ between 9a and noon to download a coupon. The time that they open the contest is different everyday so keep trying. Also don't forget, on every Friday starting at 9a, you can go to http://www.realchocolate.com/ and download a coupon for free chocolate be one of the first 250,000 people to get your sweets. If you don't get one on this week, don't worry, this promotion is running every Friday thru September.
