Information Crush: Amy's Show List

Another week of rock has arrived! On Thursday I think the Plough is where I'll end up to check out Robin Lane and Johnny Angel although Men at Harper's Ferry with members of Le Tigre sounds interesting. On Friday there are way too many choices. Andrew Bird and Calexico at the Pavillion looks awesome (except if it's cold and rainy and then not so awesome). My Own Worst Enemy at the Cantab is a guaranteed good time. Also on Friday there's a chance to experience classic Boston rock at TTs with The Blackjacks, The Gravel Pit and The Outlets. And of course if you're a Eurotrash Girl, head to the Middle East to see Cracker. On Saturday you can hit the high seas or at least the Boston Harbor with Girls, Guns and Glory on a boat, how fun will that be? Also on Saturday if you missed The Blackjacks on Friday, you can see them again on Saturday at TTs. But the show at the Plough with Shepardess is my pick for Saturday. Okay, so the big show for Sunday is the WMBR Benefit at TTs with the Condo Fucks (aka Yo La Tengo), The Bevis Frond (solo) and Sleepyhead. I hope you have your ticket cause the show is officially soldout, I warned you didn't I? If you're shut out of TTs, both shows at the Middle East look pretty good. On Monday, The Coachmen are at Atwoods and they're always fun. On Tuesday, I know that the prog rock fans will be going to the Regent. Also on Tuesday there'a garage band from Sweden at the Plough called Stupidity and a UK band called Hatham Social at TTs (this is a chance to catch before they return in the fall to open for the Charlatans UK at the Paradise). And if you like atmospheric music go the YMCA in Central Square to see Johann Johannson from Iceland. Phew...that's a full music schedule for ya!

And here's another freebie, Burts Bees is giving away free lip balm everyday between now and June 30. Just log onto www.burtsbees.com between 9a and noon to download a coupon. The time that they open the contest is different everyday so keep trying.

Also don't forget, on every Friday starting at 9a, you can go to www.realchocolate.com and download a coupon for free chocolate be one of the first 250,000 people to get your sweets. If you don't get one on this week, don't worry, this promotion is running every Friday thru September. I heard from someone who's collecting free chocolate coupons, have you gotten yours yet?

So did I miss anything worthwhile? If so let me know so I can fix it for next time. Here are this week's show listings, enjoy!

We definitely have love for all these shows... but Amy's only one person and is a hero for putting together this list every week – such a daunting task. As such, please continue to tell us what we've missed and if there's time, we'll make sure Amy adds it to the next week's list!
And of course if you're in a local band or represent one, check out our submission guidelines to get us to crush on you.
xoxo
