Information Crush: Amy's Show List

On Thursday, if you can't afford tix to see Sir Paul McCartney at Fenway (and who can these days?) check out Three Day Threshold at Atwoods Tavern for free. Friday night has O Positive doing a benefit show at the Paradise, Harvey Danger doing a farewell show at Harpers (who knew they were even still together?)and a Tribute Night at Church with The Dictators, Cheap Trick and the Jam (so those actual bands won't be there but if you close your eyes you can pretend). There are a couple of shows on Saturday that look interesting, Dave Aaronoff at the Plough, Up and Down at the Middle East has 2 good shows and Three Day Threshold is at Toad with another free show. Sunday is the second week of John Powhida's residency at Toad. And considering it's a Wednesday, there are a few good possibilities with The Warlocks at Great Scotts, The Pretenders at the Pavillion and the line-up at Showcase Live in Foxboro, definitely too many choices for hump day.

Here are some ticket specials to consider. There are a few shows at the House of Blues that if you use the Subway code (subway$5tix) on the Ticketmaster website you can get tix for $5 which are in fact really $11.10 after you add in convenience charges, but still a good deal. But while I was at the House of Blues on Tuesday for the Eagles of Death Metal (I have a fun rock n roll story about the show, ask me about it sometime) they were selling $10 tix at their box office for the following shows (BTW not going to edit this list, just sharing all of the shows): Extreme, Nat & Alex Wolf, Collective Soul, Neville Brothers, Mitchell Muso, Stryper, Down, Secondhand Serenade, KMFDM and the Psychedelic Furs/Happy Mondays.
