Information Crush: Amy's Show List

Rocktober continues with another great weekend. On Thursday, you could go to Precinct to check Barrence Whitfield on his second week of his October residency or go to the Alchemist in JP to see Lars Vegas (for Free!). Or maybe you want to revisit the 1980s and see Howard Jones at Scullers. On Friday,not certain if there are still tix available but I'm looking forward to seeing Black Joe Lewis at the Landsdowne Pub and then heading over to Harpers Ferry for the Upper Crust (gotta love their powdered wigs, puffy shirts and beauty marks!). If that's not your thing try the Middle East. Maybe you have Built to Spill tix and if you don't the upstairs show looks good as well with Muck & the Mires, Dirty Truckers and the Beatings. Saturday afternoon, the Honk Festival is happening in Davis Square. Also on Saturday is another chance to visit the past with the Psychedelic Furs and the Happy Mondays at the House of Blues (hopefully you got to take advantage of the cheap tix for the show that Live Nation was offering). I think this show is going to be a blast. The roller derby in Wilmington would be cool too (and they have Downbeat 5 performing as well). For later on Saturday, there's the Glam vs Punk Extravaganza at the Middle East, I wonder which team will win? Which will you cheer for? Sunday afternoon, I hope the weather's good cause the Honk Festival continues in Davis Square, Somerville starting at noon. Sunday night the Gossip are at the Paradise and the Bags are at Church. On Tuesday The Airborne Toxic Event is at the House of Blues but I'd pick Ukulele Noir at Johnny D's just cause I love ukulele music. Wednesday brings Swedish songster Lonely Dear to Great Scott along with Asobi Seksu or go to the Somerville Theater for Stephen Kellogg's show with Carbon Leaf.
