Information Crush: Amy's Show List

So what's happening this weekend? I think there are still tix available for Bill Maher at the Wilbur on Thursday (and they now have a liquor license so cheers!). Also on Thursday you have a chance to check out the new project the Port Charles Quintet at the Plough which sounds fun or you could go to the Brattle for the Califone show. But if these don't appeal to you, don't worry, there are many other great choices on Thursday. On Friday, the show at the Cantab looks strong with the Brooklyns, but then there's also Dennis Brennan at Precinct which would be cool. Saturday has 2 shows that look really interesting to me, Andrea Gillis at the Plough or Ad Frank and the Fast Easy Women at Great Scotts. There are a couple of bands getting some buzz on Sunday: Uninhabitable Mansions (featuring members of Clap Your Hands and Say Yeah and Au Revoir Simone) at TTs and We Have Band (from the UK) at Great Scotts. Monday has a rocking show at Charlie's Kitchen with the Coffin Lids, The Egos and The Acrobrats. Tuesday has Bishop Allen at the Middle East (I'd love to see them again). And on Wednesday The Whigs from Athens, GA are at the Middle East. Wow, lots of awesome shows to check out this week!

Here's a heads up, Brendan Benson (Jack White's BFF from the Raconteurs) is playing at the Middle East on December 2. I've been a fan of his heartfelt pop long before he started touring with Jack so this is a great opportunity catch him live and hear his songs.
