Lots of music so let's get to it! On Thursday, The Gobshites are doing their third night of their January residency at the Burren. If that's not your thing UK soul singer Findlay Brown is at TTs with Marc Pinansky and Rick Berlin. Friday has a lot to offer. There's a benefit for the victims of the Haiti earthquake at the Middle East Downstairs featuring: The Gobshites, Force the Fallen, Forgetful Jones, The Doom Buggies, Sherman Burns and Van Burens (rockin' for a good cause is a good thing). There's a cool show at Precinct with Corin Ashley, Mike Gent & the Rapid Shave and Ad Frank and the Midway has The Last Ones, The Vistalites and The Exiles . But if your funds are low there are a few free options on Friday with The Vivs at Toad (and they're donating their earned money to Partners in Health for Haiti), Thunderpants Johnson's Hillbilly Orchestra at the Middle East Corner and the Red Rose Soul Club at the Rosebud. Saturday is another busy night with Apple Betty at the Plough, Brendan Boogie, Motion Sick and Oranjuly at the Lizard, Soozapalooza at Precinct and The Jay Allen and the Archcriminals CD Release Party at the Baseball Tavern (with lots of fun bands like Muck & the Mires). Somerville rocks on Sunday night with Nouvelle Vague at the Somerville Theatre (love their Bossa Nova version of Love Will Tear Us Apart), Roy Sludge & Friends at Highland Kitchen, Tokyo Tramps and The Weisstronauts at Sally O'Briens and Dale Watson at Johnny D's. And the big midweek show on Wednesday (if you're not going to Of Montreal at the Paradise) is the One Night Band Reunion: The Peppermint Patties! with Old Jack, Logan 5 & The Runners, Ed In the Refridgerators (mems. of Harry & The Potters), Cult of Point Break Society at the ME. I was lucky enought to see the debut of the Peppermint Patties and the first One Night Band and they were super fun.
With so many great choices whichever ones you pick should pretty much rock, enjoy!
